The internship program will run from Monday, June 1, through Wednesday, August 5. Interns must be available to participate for the full duration of the program. We are hiring for 2 openings, one based out of Austin Headquarters and one based out of our Phoenix Corporate office. This program requires in office presence 5 days a week. 

 

Position Summary

Position Summary: The Marketing Intern position offers college and university students a comprehensive introduction to the field of Marketing through hands-on experience with department-specific projects, meaningful assignments, professional shadowing opportunities, and engaging learning activities.

Responsibilities

  • Shadows department leaders in all areas of Marketing, to include Property Marketing, Corporate Marketing, Creative Services, Social Media, Reputation, and Digital Marketing
  • Completes department-specific weekly assignments and projects to gain a better understanding of the various efforts and levels of support provided within cross-functional teams, all working under the umbrella of the Marketing department
  • Participates in learning activities through team meetings, conducting market research, participating in performance evaluations, and observing the Operations function as it relates to marketing support, which provides an overview of department roles and responsibilities
  • Attends internship meetings hosted by the Internship Liaison and corporate executive team
  • Participates in company-wide projects and meetings to include: Townhall calls, RPM Serves community service activities, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) initiatives
  • Completes a final program assessment/evaluation with the Marketing Leadership
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

Education & Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Marketing program with a focused curriculum, or other relevant college or university degree program
  • Current college student – Junior year or entering senior year
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Current valid driver’s license

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to read documents, computer screens and data
  • Must be able to hear and understand verbal communications in person and over the phone or computer
  • May occasionally be required to lift or carry items such as files or office supplies weighing up to 15 pounds
  • Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse and other office equipment

Work Environment:

  • This is an in-office role, requiring the associate to work in one of our corporate or regional offices 5 days per week
  • The office is an open setting which may include bright lights, constant noises and distractions.
