Position Summary

The Director of Insurance Services (RPMIS) reports to the Vice President of Insurance and is responsible for overseeing the company’s renters insurance platform and compliance program. This role leads strategic initiatives to drive program growth and optimization, with key areas of focus including performance analytics, invoicing, resident compliance, policy administration, and vendor partner integration and oversight.


Working closely with Operations, Client Services, the Vice President of Insurance, and the Risk Management team, the Director of RPMIS ensures the organization remains at the forefront of risk and insurance management. This role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, continuous process improvement, and the long-term sustainability of the program, with a strong focus on performance, safety management, and asset preservation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of resident insurance management, including broker relationships, compliance, documentation, billing, and policy administration.
• Ensure licensing and regulatory compliance across all applicable jurisdictions and with compliance partners.
• Serve as the primary liaison for RPM Renters Insurance programs, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external provider partners to ensure effective delivery of insurance services.
• Build, manage, and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurance partners, outside legal counsel, and other insurance-related parties.
• Oversee all administrative functions related to resident insurance services.
• Monitor and communicate updates related to renters insurance regulations, compliance requirements, and industry trends.
• Escalate significant issues, risks, or questions to appropriate RPM executives and principals.
• Evaluate and analyze new insurance products and offerings to ensure RPM Insurance Services (RPMIS) remains competitive and operationally effective.
• Drive growth of the RPMIS program through innovative marketing and engagement strategies.
• Analyze, trend, and report on resident insurance program penetration, losses, and performance changes, providing clear insights and explanations.
• Ensure ongoing regulatory compliance by monitoring changes in applicable laws and implementing programs to track and maintain compliance.
• Manage internal and external communications related to RPM Insurance Services programs.
• Supervise and develop the RPMIS team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
• Lead data-driven meetings with stakeholders, including senior leadership, as needed.
• Build strong, effective working relationships across departments to support organizational objectives.
• Provide training and support to end users as needed.
• Compile and distribute periodic reports for leadership and stakeholders.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Ten years of relevant experience.
• Multifamily experience preferred.

• Knowledge of Insurance principles and practices.
• Knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies and best practices.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal insurance regulations and compliance requirements.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Yardi.
• Skilled in strategic thinking and planning.
• Skilled in project management.
• Ability to make high stake decisions under pressure and in uncertain situations.
• Ability to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
• Ability to develop long-term strategies and frameworks for the organization’s risk programs.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful completion.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

• May be required to sit for extended periods of time
• Must be able to read documents, computer screens and data
• Must be able to hear and understand verbal communications in person and over the phone or computer
• May occasionally be required to lift or carry items such as files or office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds
• Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse and other office equipment

 

Work Environment:

• This position is a hybrid position requiring the associate to work in one of our Corporate or
Regional offices at least three days per week.
• The office is an open setting which may include bright lights, constant noises and distractions
