Position Summary

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties at a professional level and works closely with senior HR management to support designated geographic regions. This position is responsible for carrying out duties in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Development of an associate-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance
  • Partner with HR Leadership on cross-functional projects and process improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of company policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure alignment with best practices
  • Manage and track employee relations cases, conducting initial fact-finding or note-taking during investigations with guidance from the RHRM
  • Maintain accurate and compliant associate records and documentation, ensuring audit readiness
  • Coordinate and facilitate portions of HR related training sessions for associates and managers.
  • Provide guidance on performance management processes, supporting managers with documentation, feedback tools, and process adherence
  • Analyze data and prepare reports to identify trends in turnover, engagement, or employee relations, recommending potential solutions or process improvements.
  • Serve as an HR contact for assigned departments, providing consistent and accurate guidance on HR policies, programs, and best practices.
  • Ensure company compliance with all existing federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Administration of HR Programs such as Unemployment, Associate Onboarding, and HRIS Ticketing Systems in a timely, efficient manner
  • Monitors all workers' compensation cases, follows up on open cases as appropriate.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's in HR, Business, Psychology, or related fields. Experience may substitute for education
  • Two years of HR experience required
  • HRCI or SHRM Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of HR principles and employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, EEO, ADA, etc.)
  • Knowledge of multistate labor laws is preferred
  • Knowledge of performance management, recruiting, and onboarding processes
  • Knowledge of data collection and analysis techniques used in employee relations and workplace investigations to identify case trends, evaluate outcomes, and recommend proactive process improvements.
  • Skilled in HRIS platforms (e.g., UKG, Workday, ADP, Paycom) and document management systems
  • Skilled in verbal and written communication; able to clearly explain policies and processes
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Skilled in demonstrating reliability, accountability, and follow-through in managing assigned responsibilities and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, handle confidential information, and ensure data integrity
  • Ability to use independent judgment and discretion to identify when to escalate issues to HR leadership
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate high ethical standards in handling sensitive associate information and organizational matters
  • Ability to model respect, fairness, and consistency in all interactions with associates, leaders, and external partners

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to read documents, computer screens, and data
  • Must be able to hear and understand verbal communications in person and over the phone or computer
  • May occasionally be required to lift or carry items such as files or office supplies weighing up to 15 pounds
  • Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment

Work Environment:

  • This is a hybrid role, requiring the associate to work in one of our corporate offices three or four days per week, based on managers’ discretion.
  • The office is an open setting, which may include bright lights, constant noises, and distractions
