Position Summary

The Position: The Acquisition Analyst will play a key role in evaluating and supporting the acquisition of residential properties for the company's growing portfolio. This position will be responsible for conducting financial analysis, market research, and due diligence to identify and recommend opportunities that align with the organization’s strategic growth objectives.   

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial, strategic, and operational analyses of properties, markets, and submarkets to help the executive team make calculated investment decisions
  • Analyst will take the lead in analyzing acquisition opportunities and managing the pipeline
  • Execute due diligence tasks in evaluating new and existing investment opportunities
  • Support and assist the Director of Acquisition in driving the operations of acquisition efforts through market, submarket, and asset selection
  • Analyst will assist in sourcing and screening potential investment opportunities, participate in presenting potential investments to leadership, and support the negotiation of purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, and closings
  • Model real estate using appropriate tools, perform extensive independent work in the development of financial models for investment analysis, and assist with the preparation of presentations, memos, and other analyses to support new and existing investments
  • Assist in closing of transactions including; review and analysis of due diligence materials, coordinating with lender, broker, management company, and limited partners
  • Support targeted marketing efforts for offering investment opportunities to capital partners

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of multifamily acquisitions, investment banking/brokerage, or private equity experience, preferably with either a real estate owner/operator, brokerage, or real estate private equity fund.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in Business, Economics, Finance, Real Estate, Development or Accounting)
  • Self-motivated and proactive with an established track record of working effectively and independently
  • A strong network of relationships within the brokerage and property owner community is a plus
  • High proficiency in financial modeling and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and exceptional work ethic
  • This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, and able to travel

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to read documents, computer screens and data
  • Must be able to hear and understand verbal communications in person and over the phone or computer
  • May occasionally be required to lift or carry items such as files or office supplies weighing up to 15 pounds
  • Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse and other office equipment

Work Environment:

  • This is a hybrid role, requiring the associate to work in one of our corporate or regional offices 4 days per week
  • The office is an open setting which may include bright lights, constant noises and distractions
